• Elected by the citizens to serve 5 terms on
the Tazewell County Board
• Elected by the taxpayers to serve 4 years as Tazewell County
Chief Fiscal Officer, Budget Director, Purchasing Agent, Chief
Accountant & Auditor.
• Elected by IL Auditors as Vice-President of the IL Association
of Finance Officers and County Auditors (known as the Taxpayer’s
Watchdog). |

Russ currently serves as Heartland Water Resources Council
President, Tri-County Regional Planning Commissioner, Peoria
Historical Society Trustee, United Counties Council of IL Board
of Directors, Scenic Byways Board of Directors and served as
Moderator for the 2009 IL River Conference. In October, 2009,
Russ was honored with the County Government Leadership
Certification by the University of IL, Dept of Government &
Public Affairs, Office of Public Policy for successfully
completing all certification requirements. |

Russ Crawford graduated from Knox College with a Bachelor of
Arts degree and performed graduate level work at both Illinois
State University and the University of Virginia. He served as a
Certified 6 Sigma Project Manager, Global Class A and Cat
Production System Manager and Global Customer Acceptance
Validation Manager at Caterpillar Logistics Services located in
Morton, Illinois until his retirement on Dec 1, 2009. |

Russ has been an Instructor of Government, History, Political &
Social Problems at East Peoria and Pekin High Schools;
Instructor of Traffic Law Administration at Illinois Central
College; Chairman of the Tri-County (Peoria, Tazewell &
Woodford) Regional Planning Commission; ten-term member of the
Illinois Republican Party Platform Committee; five-term elected
member of the Tazewell County Board of Supervisors; Chairman of
the Tazewell County Economic Development Council; Chairman of
the Tazewell County Park & Forest Preserve District; Chairman of
the Public Health Committee; four-year term elected Tazewell
County Chief Fiscal Officer & Auditor and Jim Edgar’s Assistant
for Courts & Law Enforcement in Northern Illinois for the IL
Secretary of State’s Office. Russ was elected as a Delegate to
the first 3 IL Conservation Congresses and subsequently to the
Congress Executive Committee where he led the process to write
the bylaws, created the current IDNR from the former Dept of
Conservation and formulated a volunteer network to assist with
IDNR and Park activities. |

Russ is Vice-Chairman of the Tazewell County Land Use & Zoning
Committee. He was instrumental in the creation and Past Chairman
of the Peoria Lakes Basin Alliance (PLBA), including the
Heartland Water Resources, Nature Conservancy and Tri-County
Planning Commission. This coalition speaks with one voice to the
public sector (federal, state & local government) and private
sector on the issue of preserving and protecting the Peoria
Lakes and the Illinois River basin. Russ is married to Cindy
Crawford and resides in East Peoria, IL. They have one son,
Kristopher Russell Crawford from Rockford, Illinois. |
